Obituary of Rufus Winborn "R.W." Patrick

Funeral services for Mr. Rufus Winborn “R.W.” Patrick are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2018 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. The interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 20, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Goldens.

R.W. Patrick, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at the age of 82. He was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Bastrop and served his country in the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. Mr. Patrick worked at International Paper Company as a pipe fitter and retired after forty years. He was very involved in his community and played an instrumental part in bringing the Boys Club and Dixie Youth League to Bastrop.  Mr. Patrick served on the Board of Directors at Kraftman Federal Credit Union in Bastrop as Vice President for two years and President for eighteen years. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana State Credit Union League.

Mr. Patrick is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Clara Patrick; daughter, Beverly Word, and husband Billy; sons, Carl Patrick, and wife Dawn and Barry Patrick, and wife Nancy; sister-in-law, Helen Patrick; grandchildren, Kacie Burns, and husband Bill, Corey Word, and wife Erin, Adam Patrick, Amanda Patrick, Laura Patrick, Dylan Patrick, and wife Jessica, and Julie Claire Patrick; great grandchildren, Bleu Burns, Cora Word, Rowan Burns, and Etta Grace Word.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mamie Patrick; sisters, Lucille Lewis, Emma Lewis, Patsy Reynolds, Bobbie Tisdale; and brother, Charles D. Patrick.
