Obituary of Sterling G. Tisdale

Funeral services for Mr. Sterling G. Tisdale, age 90, will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at Central Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Britt Dupree and Bro. Phillip McCready officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Tisdale, a resident of Bastrop and a retired Information Systems Supervisor with Graphic Packaging and retired teacher, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018. Mr. Tisdale was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Social Security Hounds Sunday School Class which he enjoyed being a part of. He served his country in the United States Navy. He loved his grandchildren and his dog “Baby”, and enjoyed teaching at the Louisiana Business College. Mr. Tisdale is preceded in death by his parents, Sterling G. Tisdale, Sr. and Viola Duck Tisdale.

Mr. Tisdale is survived by his wife of 65 years, Floy Knight Tisdale; three daughters, Pam Tisdale of Monroe, LA, Terri Tisdale Daniel and husband Dean of Hammond, LA, Stephanie Tisdale Adcock and husband Jeffery of Simpsonville, SC; one sister, Lorraine Tisdale Byrd of Tullos, LA; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Norman, Gregory Adcock, Aaron McCready, Caleb McCready, Thomas Coats, and Bill Gregory. Honorary pallbearers will be Regan Adcock, Bobby Adams, Tommy Smith, and Paul Dark.

The family will receive friends at Central Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday from Noon until Service time.
