Obituary of Leroy Mack Morris

Funeral services for Leroy “Mack” Morris are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Stuckey officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 29, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Goldens.

Mr. Morris, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the age of 73. He was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the American Legion, and a member of the Pecan Growers Association. Mr. Morris enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping others. He was a man who would give you the shirt off his back and was not a man who held a grudge. He loved the Lord and told everyone about his cinnamon and honey.

Mr. Morris is survived by his wife of twelve years, Annita Morris; mother, Elizabeth Morris Williams; daughter, Theresa Morris; sister, Jan Thompson and husband Sherman; brothers, Tommy Morris and wife Charlotte, Eddie Morris and wife Wanda; grandchildren, William Wolfe Jr., Barbara Pottberg, Tiffany Morris, Jamie Morris, Stacie Hebert, Jacob Hebert; great grandchildren, Gabby Wolfe, Gavin Wolfe, Adelais Wolfe, Ryan Skains, Arrabella Pottberg, Arios Pottberg, Amy Kirk and many other close nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Leory Morris; sons, Jimmy Don Morris and Stacy Mack Morris; grandparents, J.H. and Viola Ferrell, and Harry and Ida Morris.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Doles, Greg Smith, Justin Smalling, Tommy Grubbs, Spencer Morris, and Ronnie Mercer. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Morris, Chad Morris, Marshall Morris, and Greg “Hoot” Anthony.
