Obituary of F.D. "Red" Massey

Funeral services for Mr. F.D. “Red” Massey, age 86, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Garry Massey officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Golden Funeral Home.

Mr. Massey was a retired employee of 36 years with International Paper Company and a member of Faith Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and received numerous commendations.

He is survived by his children, Gail Rainbolt and husband Ricky of Maumelle, AR, Garry Massey and wife Kim of Bastrop, LA, Dollie Massey of Bastrop, LA, Jeremy Black of Bastrop, LA, Justin Black and wife Shayla of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Brandon Massey and wife Jennilee, Bryan Massey, Melissa Pettit and husband Adam, Tiffany Rainbolt, Ryan Rainbolt,  Jonathan Castleberry and wife Vanessa, ReAnna Black  and numerous great grandchildren.

Mr. Massey is preceded in death by his wife, Zelma Massey; parents, William and Dollie Massey; brothers, R.T. Massey, Stanford Massey, Ed Massey; and a sister, Christell Massey.

Serving as pallbearer are his sons and grandsons.
