Obituary of Bobby Ray Mayo, Sr.
Bobby Ray Mayo Sr., age 75 of Bastrop, LA, passed away February 20, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born November 2, 1943 in Jones, LA, a son of Dock Riley and Gladys (Crenshaw) Mayo. He was a retired carpenter and an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved his family and spent as much time as he could with them. He attended church at Hillview Baptist Church.
Mr. Mayo is survived by his children, Bobby Mayo Jr. and wife Sharon of Jones, LA, Glenda Silmon and husband Michael of Bastrop, LA, Joe Mayo of Bastrop, LA, Kevin Herrington of Collinston, LA, Deedee Amador and husband Robert of Bonita, LA; brothers, D.R. Mayo of Bastrop, LA, Harry Mayo and wife Billie of Jones, LA; sisters, Clara Barthol and husband Laurie of Pioneer, LA, Ella Baugh of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Trisha Harper, Jamie Travis, Britney Travis, Rusty Travis, Delaney Mayo, Blake Mayo, Brandon Mayo, Teresa Amador, Rebecca Rainbolt, Jessica Herrington, Adam Herrington, Kaylon Herrington; eighteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop, LA, with Bro. Bruce Culp and Bro. Allan Eppinette officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 23, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop, LA.
