Obituary of Jamie Lynn Slay

Funeral services for Mrs. Jamie Lynn Slay are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Stevenson Cemetery, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday April 5, from 5 PM until 7 PM at Golden’s.

Mrs. Slay, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the age of fifty four She loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She was a strong-willed woman who fought until the very end. She held a special place in the hearts of her family and friends and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gary Slay; mother, Gwen Hollis and husband Tommy; daughter, Chelsey Leigh Leonard and husband Daniel; son, Gary “Doug” Slay and wife Evelyn; brothers, Tim Harrison and wife Tammy, Stacey Harrison and wife Wanda; grandchildren, Brinlee Leonard, Isabella Slay, Sophia Slay, Victoria Slay and her special fur baby, Kassy.

Mrs. Slay is preceded in death by her grandmother, Opal Freeland Owens; aunt, Linda Young; uncle, Jerry Lee Freeland.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Hollis, Doug Slay, Tim Harrison, Stacey Harrison, Daniel Leonard and Dexter Bryan. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bethel Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.
