Funeral services for Mr. H. Nelson Burchfield are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 3, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m at Goldens.

Mr. Burchfield, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at the age of eighty-seven. He was an Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served faithfully at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Burchfield was a man of character and integrity, treating everyone with dignity and respect. He was a consistently solid man who lived his life by Biblical principles.

Mr. Burchfield is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Mona M. Burchfield; daughters, Rhonda B. Liming and husband Charles, and Joyce B. Oliver and husband Ronald; grandchildren, Lori Liming, Cal Liming, Nelson Oliver, William Oliver, and Kyle Perkins; brothers, Quenton Burchfield and wife Mattie, Raymond Burchfield, Michael Burchfield; sisters, Phyllis Wilkerson, and husband David, Nancy Ingram, Sherry Moffett, Judy Danysh, Jo Kathy Gilbreath, Penny Brown, and Teresa Blackmon.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Elizabeth Perkins; infant granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Perkins; parents, Charles Phillip and Lela Mae Burchfield; step mother, Vida Burchfield; brothers, Charles Phillip Burchfield, Jr. and Edward E. Burchfield; and sister, Mary Ann Nelson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cal Liming, Nelson Oliver, William Oliver, Kyle Perkins, Dennis Burchfield, and Dwain Trapp.
