Obituary of Debra Ann Franklin Eubanks

Debra Ann Franklin Eubanks passed away on May 9, 2019 in Houston, TX at the age of 66. She was born on October 14, 1952 in Augusta, Georgia to Charles Ray Franklin, Sr. and Ann Herren Franklin. Debra loved spending time with and doting on her four beautiful grand babies. She also enjoyed spending time in the Piney Woods of East Texas at the property her and her husband shared. Ever since the 6th grade Debra knew she wanted to be a school teacher. She taught elementary school for almost thirty years and touched so many young people’s lives. Debra was a faithful member of the League City Church of Christ where she taught Bible class and was involved in countless other areas of service to members of the church and the community. Her lifelong mission was to lead others to Christ. Throughout her battle with pancreatic cancer, her main focus was bringing glory to God no matter the outcome.

Debra is preceded in death by her father, Charles Ray Franklin, Sr., her mother in law, Eunice Eubanks, and her nephew, Lucien Max Larche. Debra is survived by her loving husband, Ken Eubanks of Friendswood, TX, her daughters Natalie Ann Schutz and husband Jeff of League City, TX, Allison Dawn Lankford and husband Josh of Farmers Branch, TX, her mother Ann Franklin of Bastrop, LA, brother Charles Ray Franklin, Jr. of Thomasville, AL, sister Cheryl Tanksley and husband Terry of Bastrop, LA, her four precious grandchildren Conley Schutz, Abigail Lankford, Emberlee Schutz and Jude Lankford, her father in law, Melvin Eubanks of Bastrop, LA, sisters in law Marilyn Cox and husband David of Bastrop, LA and Wanda McCoy and husband Mike of Sterlington, LA and many sweet nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 8th, 2019 from 1pm -2 pm with a memorial service following at 2 pm at the Central Church of Christ, 5743 Mer Rouge Road, Bastrop, Louisiana, 71220.

The family would like to express our thanks to Debra’s friends and church family for the many prayers and many acts of kindness shown during her cancer battle and for the wonderful care given by the staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center. If desired, in lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions in Debra’s honor to Fosters Home for Children or go to M D Anderson Research.
