Funeral services for Mr. Virgil Leon White are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby White officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 19, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Goldens.

Mr. White, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019, at the age of sixty-nine. He is a retiree of the International Paper Company and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed making floral arrangements and spending time with his daughter and granddaughter. Mr. White loved his family dearly and will always be remembered as the protective, loving, and caring person that he was.

He is survived by his daughter, Neely Anne Cathey and husband Chris of Monroe, LA; sisters, Linda Durr of Monroe, LA, Vicki Gregory of Bastrop, LA, Barbara Kesey and husband Ken of McMinnville, TN; grandchild, Emma Jewel Wilkerson; wonderful friend and ex-wife, Cherry Sue Price and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Mr. White is preceded in death by his parents, L. Virgil “Buddy” White and Annie Laura McDonald White.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nick Mindling, B.J. Swayze, Thomas Curtis, Ricky Curtis, Sydney Jones, and Bill Price.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Alvaro Manrique, St. Francis Hospital physicians and staff in the Intensive Care Units.
