Obituary of Judith Jeanette Lusby Brennon
Graveside memorial services for Mrs. Judith Jeanette Lusby Brennon are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2019, in Carter Cemetery with Bro. Tim Post officiating.
Mrs. Brennon, a resident of Swartz, LA, passed away June 29, 2019, at the age of seventy-nine. She retired from Kmart after thirty-six years of service, and then continued to work alongside some of her beloved family as a receptionist at Lusby’s Heating and Cooling in Bastrop, LA. Mrs. Brennon will always be remembered as the hard worker she was. She constantly cared for others and was loved by all that knew her. Her entire life revolved around her children and great grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. She was known for her storytelling and the one her family says would be her “claim to fame” was the story she told of the time she “daynced” with Elvis Presley when he came through Bastrop one year. Mrs. Brennon was a Breast Cancer Survivor who, through it all, continued to be a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend and she will be truly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Jack Brennon, Sr; daughter, Rebecca Lynn Lawson; sons, Jack Brennon Jr. And Jimmy Dewayne Brennon; sisters, Nora Lee Ray and Polly Sue Mayers; sister-in-law, Barbara Jean Lusby Sisson; grandchildren, Jessie Brennon, Brandon Keith Lawson and wife Heather, Christopher Lance Lawson and wife Shonie, Mason Kyle Lawson, Melynda Devona Lawson; and great grandchildren, Bella Lawson and O’ryan Lawson;
Mrs. Brennon is preceded in death by her parents, James Frank Lusby and Evie Lee Hall Lusby; brothers, Joe Frank “Sonny” Lusby and wife Louise, J.D. Lusby and wife Patsy, Paul Levon Lusby; sister, Peggy Lusby Johnson and husband Charles; and son, Carl Ray Brennon.
