Obituary of Florence "Aline" Carter

Florence “Aline” Irene George Carter, 83, passed away on July 14, 2019 at home surrounded by her children in Bastrop, Louisiana. She was born on March 18, 1936 in West Monroe, LA to Charles Seymon George and Clara George Courtney.

Aline married Rufus Jr. Carter on August 9, 1952 in West Monroe, LA. They were happily married for 44 years. They raised five children Robert, Cathy, Eddie Wayne, Mary and Jarrod.Rufus and Aline made their home in Bastrop, Louisiana where she was a wonderful wife and dedicated mother and grandmother. Aline was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bastrop, LA. The family extends their deepest love and thank you to Premier Hospice for their care and love given to Mrs. Carter.

Aline is survived by her children: Robert Lee Carter and  wife Yvonne, and  children, Nicholas and Shannon of Sterlington, LA, Cathy Ann Fitch and husband Johnny, and children, Jess and Joel of Oak Ridge, LA, Eddie Wayne Carter of Bastrop, LA, Mary Margret Davis and husband Timmy, and child Brooke of Bastrop, LA, Jarrod M. Carter of Bastrop, LA; siblings; Mildred George Carter of Grayson, LA,  Douglas George of Columbia, LA, and Betty Christy of West Monroe, LA; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Aline was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Rufus Jr. Carter; her parents Charles Seymon George and Clara George Courtney; her brother Hansford “Buddy” Lee George; her granddaughter Ashley Irene Davis; and her great-grandson William Hickman.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.

A visitation service will be held at Golden’s Funeral Home 2016 E Madison Ave Bastrop, LA, Tuesday, July 16, 2019, from 5 PM until 8 PM. A graveside service will be held at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Sikes, LA at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.
