Obituary of Peggy Griffin Cooke

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Griffin Cooke, age seventy, are scheduled for 9 AM Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Christ Church Cemetery with Bro. Bruce Culp officiating.

Mrs. Cooke passed away Monday, July 15, 2019. She enjoyed working outside, tending to her flowers and mowing her yard. Mrs. Cooke enjoyed antique shopping and collecting unique things. She was most notorious for being late, her life ran on “Peggy time”.

She is survived by her husband, David Cooke; sons, Kevin Sweat, Steven Sweat and wife Susan, Gerald Griffin, Jr; step-children, Kimberly Diane Cooke, Mike Cooke and Ricky Cooke; sister, Delores Setser; brother-in-law, Edward Setser; grandchildren, Alexis Lee Sweat, Justin Wade Sweat, Ryleigh Sweat, Pheonix Griffin; one great granddaughter, Sophia Loren Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cooke is preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Hale and brother, Norman Hale.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 19, 2019 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
