Obituary of Doris Owens Eldridge

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Owens Eldridge, age eighty-two, are scheduled for 1PM Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Carter and  Bro. Tony Campanale officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (Bernice, LA).

Mrs. Eldridge, a mother and homemaker, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019.She loved her family and her Lord. She enjoyed reading, painting, crossword puzzles, and traveling with her sisters. Mrs. Eldridge was a woman who enjoyed the simple life. She was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church, a devoted Sunday School teacher to the Young Adult class and also to the WMU.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Sam Eldridge; daughters, Sandy Melton and husband Jimmy, Sarah Woodson, Jennifer Linder and husband Dan; sons, Sammy Eldridge and wife Cindy, Tommy Eldridge and wife Carol; sisters, Peggy Craighead and husband Jimmy, Brenda Doran; brother, Buddy Owens and wife Bertha; grandchildren, Laura Pruitt and husband Michael, Melanie Roose and husband Robert, Riley Melton, Niki Campanale and husband Tony, Trey Eldridge and wife Amanda, Tyler Eldridge and wife Lynnette, Jeremy Eldridge and fiancé Natalie Raisor, Daniel Woodson and wife Leesa, Emily Doyon and husband Frank, Leslie Turnbow and husband Casey, Luke Linder, and twenty great grandchildren.

Mrs. Eldridge is preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Alline Owens and brother-in-law, Joe Doran.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Trey Eldridge, Daniel Woodson, Tyler Eldridge, Jeremy Eldridge, Riley Melton and Luke Linder.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 19, 2019 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens.
