Graveside funeral services for Robert Roberts are scheduled for 11 AM Friday, August 2, 2019 at Newton Cemetery with Chaplain Daniel Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until 10 AM at Golden Funeral Home.

Robert Heath Roberts, 88, of Monroe LA, passed away on July 26, 2019 in Monroe. Robert was born in Warden, LA to LC and Edna Maud Roberts on January 29, 1931. He graduated from Delhi High School and went on to earn a degree in Animal Husbandry from Louisiana State University. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1952 and worked as a Telecommunications Specialist until he retired in 1972. He then went on to work for the Arkansas Department of Transportation and the LSU Agricultural Center Hill Farm Research Station in Homer LA. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and flint-napping.

Robert is survived by his children, Robert Roberts Jr. of Ocala, FL, Jeannette Harden of Okeechobee, FL, Steven Roberts and wife Ginger of Satellite Beach, FL, and Margaret Umberger and husband Tim of Cincinnati, OH; brothers Glenn Roberts of Bastrop, Neil Roberts of Gresham, OR, Danny Roberts of Dunn; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, LC and Edna Roberts; brothers, Lenox, Jesse, Jimmy, Woodrow, and sister, Carrie.

Memorial donations may be made to Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home, 6700 Highway 165 North, Monroe, LA  71203. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home Staff.
