Obituary of Richard DeWayne Papaw "D" Williams
Funeral services for Mr. Richard DeWayne Williams, age 75, are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church with Bro. Bodie Spicer officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 8 PM Friday, August 9, 2019 at Golden Funeral Home.
DeWayne, a retired machine operator at International Paper Co., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at his home. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bastrop, LA. DeWayne was born on September 6, 1943, and was saved at the age of 12 years old. Papaw “D” loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was also an avid deer hunter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Thelma Williams; two brothers, John Williams and James David Williams and brother-in-law, Kent Bray.
DeWayne is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Doris Williams; two daughters, DeJuana Simpson and husband Bill of West Monroe, LA, Jennifer McMeans and husband Brian of Flower Mound, TX; brother, Stephen Williams and wife Linda of Santa Fe, TX; step-daughter, Sharon Crumley and husband Mark of Sterlington, LA; step-son, Douglas Armstrong and wife Lori of Mentor, OH; grandchildren, Victoria Hargrave and husband Hunter, Katherine Crumley, Nicholas Crumley, Chloe Armstrong, Christy Dunn and husband Collin, Joshua Harper, Brady McMeans, Riley McMeans; and great grandchildren, Porter Hargrave, Nona Nielsen, Sage Nielsen and Annisten Dunn.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Crumley, Hunter Hargrave, Andy Bray, Brad Williamson, Cody Williamson, Ricky Gross, and Don Posey.
