Obituary of Vivian Louise Rogers Peck Blocker

Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Louise Rogers Peck Blocker are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Bastrop United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Dwight Fulton and Rev. David Mixon officiating. An interment will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday, September 6, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Goldens.

Mrs. Blocker, a member of Bastrop United Pentecostal Church, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at the age of eighty-nine. She was a wonderful mother and was the epitome of a prayer warrior. She enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful cook.

Mrs. Blocker is survived by her children, Carrie Lasyone and husband Joe of Monroe, LA, Jerry Peck of Bastrop, LA, Betty Sears of West Monroe, LA, Jesse A. Blocker, Jr. and wife Ruby of Bastrop, LA; siblings, Jack Rogers and wife Donna of Pollock, LA, Lucille Paul of Oakdale, LA, Bobbie Guillotte and husband James of Georgetown, LA, Homer Rogers and wife Gloria of Houma, LA, Marie Morrow of Pollock, LA; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gracie Rogers and Homer Rogers, Sr.; son, Larry Peck; husband, Jessie Albert Blocker, Sr., grandchildren, Lil Sanford Self II, Deondra Self, Selena Self Dehart, Lisa Kay Lasyone; brothers, John Rogers, Jimmy Rogers, Lenard Rogers, Frank Rogers, Herbert Rogers, Clarence Rogers; and sister, Jennette Clayton

Serving as pallbearers will be Traver Self, Wayne Rogers, Jimmy Garner, Doug Barton, Jerry Barton, and Benny Odom.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff of Landmark Nursing Home, Compassus Hospice and Haven Home Health.
