Obituary of Sandra Griffin Harris

The celebration of life service for Sandra “Sandy” Griffin Harris, 71, of Collinston, LA will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, 2016 E. Madison Avenue, Bastrop, LA, with the Rev. Shane Duke and Rev. Byron Caldwell officiating, sign language interpreter is Christal Merdaries. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The graveside service will be held following the funeral at the Mer Rouge Cemetery in Mer Rouge, LA.

Sandy, a retired state employee from the Ouachita Parish Health Unit, was born February 3, 1948 in Monroe, Louisiana. She passed from this life on September 7, 2019, in Monroe, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her father, John J. Griffin of Eros, LA; Mother, Timpie O. Shockey of Eros, LA; and her husband Maurice Harris of Collinston, LA.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are her three sons; Virgil Gross of Francisville, LA; Paul Hodge of Monroe, LA; and Vincent Chris of Collinston, LA. Her sister and her husband, Judy and Ron Kirkland of West Monroe. Her cousin whom was more like a sister and her husband,  Vicki and Randy Hickman of Collinston. Two special friends who were more like family than friends, Byron Caldwell of Crossett, AR and Donna Devillier of West Monroe, LA; and a host of friends and family.

Pallbearers will be Shane Duke, John Merdaries, Kelly Hegg, Melvin Davis, Joshua Caldwell and Joe Alexander.
