Obituary of Robert "Jerry" Goodman

Funeral services for Mr. Robert “Jerry” Goodman are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post, Bro. Phillip McCready, and Bro. Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 18, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Goldens.

Mr. Goodman, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at the age of eighty-three. He was a retiree of the International Paper Company and served as an ordained deacon of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church since January 8, 1967. Mr. Goodman enjoyed hunting and fishing when he could.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Shirley Goodman; son-in-law, Jim Mixon; grandsons, Dusty Deere and wife Kelsea, Timmy Deere and wife Sydney; great granddaughters, Addison R. Deere, Madeline Grace Deere, Addison R. Harrell, and Alisa Kate Deere.

Mr. Goodman is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Gale Mixon

Serving as pallbearers will be Rickey Tackett, Mitchell Tackett, Ross Girtman, Gary Kimball, Kevin Tackett, and Steve Spainhower. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Tackett, Beau Deblieux, and Bill Sanders.
