Obituary of Joshua Cade Laing

Funeral services for Joshua Cade Laing are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 20, 2019, at Harmony Baptist Church with Bro. Allan Eppinette and lifelong friend, Mike Goyne officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, 2019, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Harmony.

Joshua passed away Monday, September 16, 2019, at the age of thirty-eight. He was a resident of West Monroe, LA, and worked in the construction industry. Joshua had many friends who loved him and enjoyed being around him, as well as a family that loved him dearly. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. Joshua will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.He was an avid hunter and enjoyed watching LSU and Saints football.

Joshua is survived by his wife, Nikki Laing; parents, Deanna Davidson and husband Bruce; daughter, Emma Laing; sons, Brock Laing and Deuce Laing; sisters, Christy Merriweather and husband Michael, Christy Scott, Marcie Littlefield and husband Troy; brother, Shane Davidson; grandson, Maziya Brown; nephews, Dillon Goodwin, Corbin Harris, Conley Harris; and nieces, Ainslee Little, Morgan Merriweather, Makenzie Merriweather, and Baylee Harris.

He is preceded in death by his father, Don Laing; grandparents, L.E. and Pearl Laing, Robert and Jane Ward, and Dale and Estelle Crawford.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dillon Goodwin, Mark Harris, Michael Merriweather, Robby Goodwin, Brandon McDonald, Tommie Little, and Todd Mattice. Honorary pallbearers will be the Prairie View Academy Class of 1999, Pancho Roberts, and John David Barlow.
