Obituary of Jimmy Ray Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Ray Jones are scheduled for 3 PM Friday, September 20, 2019 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (Rayville, LA) with Bro. Richard Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Thursday at the church.

Mr. Jones passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the age of seventy-six.  He was a life-long member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Rayville, LA and was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  Mr. Jones was an avid outdoorsman who loved  fishing and hunting.  He was employed by the Morehouse Parish Highway Department for twenty-eight and one-half years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Diane Jones; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jones; siblings, Dottie Engberg, James Jones, Lavelle Jones; and infant brother, Martin Luther Jones.

Mr. Jones is survived by his son, Jimmy Wesley Jones, and wife Ida, of Natchitoches, La; siblings, Bessie Freeman, Sylvia Coleman, Helen Wrenn, Thomas L. Jones, and Dewey Jones; and grandchildren, Blake Smith, Zachery Gorham, Nathaniel Garner, and Noah Jones.

Serving the family pallbearers will be Nathaniel Garner, Blake Smith, Zachery Gorham, Donald Myers, and Dee Winnstead.
