Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ruth Bowe Eckles are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, September 28, 2019 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Vollmar officiating. Interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery.

Mrs. Eckles passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at St. Francis Medical Center after an illness. She was a devoted wife for thirty-seven years and a loving and caring mother. Mrs. Eckles was a retired Bookkeeper, a beloved mother and housewife. She was an excellent cook, known for her pound cakes and cookies that she gave as Christmas gifts.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Travis Wilba (T.W.) Eckles; mother, Emma Jane George Bowe; father and stepmother, George and Rosita Bowe; her sister, Lorine Bowe Clack and brother, George C. Bowe, Sr.

Mary Ruth will be deeply missed by her daughters, Melanie J. Eckles of Mer Rouge, LA and Sabrina Eckles- Homer and husband Michael of Lubbock, TX; sister-in-law, Mrs. Barbara Bowe, and other family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Homer, John Risher, Ted Parker, Jim Risher, William Hayden, and Richard Blackwell.

Honorary pallbeares will be Claud Hardie, Kenny Jones, and Kevin Denton.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: The Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home at P.O. Box 4196, Monroe, LA 71211 or to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
