Obituary of James "Buddy" Williams
Funeral services for Mr. James “Buddy” Williams, age ninety-six, will be held Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10 AM in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Allan Eppinette and Bro. Bruce Culp officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Williams, a resident of Bastrop and a retired Fireman of thirty years, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Williams was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Mr. Williams loved his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and running his beagles and coon dogs. He was the longtime owner of Buddy’s Shell Service Station.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Premier Hospice nurses, Dustin McGowen, Cindy Burlew, Emily Morris, Betty Conrad; and doctors, Hubbard, Khalil, and Irby.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Georgia Williams; children, Larry Williams and wife Debbie, Sharon Walker, Steven Walker and wife Kim, Leslie Wyatt and husband Robert; sister, Alice Meziere; brothers, Herbert Allen Williams, Tommy Williams; grandchildren, Chris Williams, Timothy Williams and wife Karen, Chris McGowen and wife Amy, Josh McGowen and wife Tiffany, Eric Walker, Zache Walker and wife Brittany, Tyler Walker, Jennifer Walker, Veronica Lingefelt and husband Jerry, Miranda Wyatt, Heather Lynn and husband Colton, Matthew Walker, Jeffery Walker; great grandchildren, Jacob Pruitt, Hayden Williams, Addison Williams, Mallory Williams, Makayla Spear, Gracie McGowen, Callie James, Dacota James, Charlotte McGowen, Delilah McGowen, Troy Pinkerton, Emily Walker, Elliott Walker, Trenton Walker, Treyson Walker, Baxton Walker, Ayden Lingefelt, Mason Lingfelt, Braylie Jordan, Sophia Lynn, Braxton Lynn, Logan Walker, Emerson Walker; and mother of his three children, Cebelle Williams.
Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents, William and Carrie Mae Shoemaker Williams; children, Charlotte Ann Williams, Debbie Taylor, Lynne Walker; grandchildren, Clint Roberts, Alicia Roberts, Mark Middlebrooks, Renee Williams Spear; brothers, W.L. Williams, Richard Williams; sisters, Beatrice Head, Violet Williams, Lottie Williams, Mary Helen Reynolds and Gertrude Stewart.
Serving as pallbearers will be Timothy Williams, Bruce Jenkins, Steve Middlebrooks, Thomas Littleton, Charlie Wilson, and Jim “Toe” McNair. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bastrop Fire Department.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 5 PM until 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
