Obituary of Marlene DeLois "Lois" Carney
Funeral services for Mrs. Marlene DeLois “Lois” Carney, age eighty, will be held at 10 AM Friday, November, 8, 2019 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Brother Danny Hawthorne officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Carney, a homemaker and substitute teacher, and a resident of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Mrs. Carney was a member of Greenacres Baptist Church. Mrs. Carney loved to travel and enjoyed riding the motorcycle with Mr. Floyd. Her favorite place to visit was Bellingrath Gardens. Mrs. Carney also enjoyed touring homes and decorating her own. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and her great grandchild. Mrs. Carney is preceded in death by her husband Floyd Carney, and her mother, Eula Mae Odom.
Mrs. Carney is survived by two daughters, Wanda Lynn Goleman and husband Harvey “Scooter”, Christine Lee and husband Darryl; four siblings, Sandra Gayle Crosby, Barbara Shumate, Donald Wayne Odom and wife Paulette, Latricia Faye Cartwright; four grandchildren, Cynthia Michelle Doffitt and husband Chris, Damon Joseph Richard, Jordan Garrett Richard, Collin Lane Richard; and a great grandchild, Kale Bryce Doffitt.
Serving as pallbearers will be Damon Richard, Jordan Richard, Collin Richard, Chris Doffitt, Thomas Shumate, and Donald Odom.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 PM until 7 PM and Friday from 9 AM until 10 AM service time at Golden Funeral Home.
