I didn't realize she had passed away until today when I saw it online. Mrs. Parker was one of those teachers who encouraged her students to reach for their potential. As just one example, she encouraged me to participate in public speaking contests for students and worked with me on my presentations, more than one year. That was a gift from her that benefited me the rest of my life. A few years ago, after I gave a speech to a large crowd at a convention, I wrote her a note to let her know how much I credited to her ...and I still do. If her goal as a teacher was to touch the lives of her students, she hit it out of the park.

It saddens my heart to hear my most favorite teacher in the world has passed. She was such a caring and passionate person. Her mother, Ruby Raines was also one of my teacher's, and I loved her dearly also. She definitely touched the heart of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. My God Bless her and her family. She will be truly missed by all. With my deepest sympathy.

The news of Dee’s passing saddens my heart deeply. My husband and I were neighbors of Dee during our early marriage years. We resided at the Saxon Arms. Later, she, Bobby Coats and I shared an office at the School Board. She and Bobby took me under their wings and taught me the ropes of being at the Central Office. They both treated me like their daughter. I will always be thankful for her wisdom, advice and friendship. She was most special and precious to me.
