Obituary of Grace Verdell Hester
Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Verdell Hester are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 7, 2019, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. David Sistrunk officiating. The interment will follow in Forest Corner Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, December 6, 2019, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Golden’s.
Mrs. Hester, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019, at the age of eighty-five. She owned an upholstery shop with her husband before opening Hester’s Jiffy Pak where she retired after forty years of business. Mrs. Hester enjoyed crocheting and was known for being a very good seamstress. She loved her family and she loved her Lord. She will be missed greatly.
Mrs. Hester is survived by her sons, Ricky Dale Hester and wife Tammy of Monroe, LA, David Bryan Hester and Tressy Acreman of Bastrop, LA; sister, Verliree Fowler of Oak Grove, LA; grandchildren, Trace Hester and wife Dnissa, Trent Hester and wife Amanda, Aaron Hester and fiancé Hillary Irby, Austin Hester; great grandchildren, James Bryce Hester, Tanner Blake Hester, and Zelda Hester.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Bankston and Loree Bankston; husband, James Burley Hester; and brother, Vernon Bankston.
Serving as pallbearers will be Barlee Acreman, Austin Hester, Aaron Hester, Trace Hester, Trent Hester, and Adam Sistrunk. Honorary pallbearers will be J.C. Thornburg, Michael Riley, and Rickey Riley.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
