Memorial services for Mr. Huey Wesley Hammonds are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, December 29, 2019 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Inurnment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Crossett, AR. Huey Wesley Hammonds was born on April 3, 1936 in Calhoun, LA and passed away on December 12, 2019 in Washington. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Hammonds was a military veteran, having served in the Vietnam War and retiring after serving over twenty years. He loved hunting and fishing, his cat, taking road trips and reading a good book by the fire. He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Hilda Hammonds; his mother and father, Myrtle and Richard Evans; brothers, Otto Hammond and Bobby Hammonds; sister, Juanita Hopkins, granddaughter, Sonya Marguerite Qualheim; and his cat, Tacky. Survivors include his three daughters, Helen Purifoy, of El Dorado, AR, Beverly Johnson, and husband Lane, of Washington, and Debra Farrar, and husband Ted, of Bastrop, LA; one sister, Sylvia Lady, of Oklahoma; one brother, Collins Hammonds, of Bastrop, LA; three grandsons, Brian Qualheim, Matthew Farrar, and Steven Farrar; six great-grandchildren, Maddie, Hannah, Cody, Elijah, D.J., and Spartan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
