Obituary of Ruby D. Wood

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby D. Wood are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, January 4, 2020 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Porter officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Wood passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the age of eighty-six. She was a resident of Bastrop and a member of Hughes Chapel Methodist Church. Mrs. Wood was a Cosmetology Instructor and a school bus driver. She was an officer in AL-ANON and was also active in many other civic organizations. Mrs. Wood was very active and enjoyed hobbies like quilting, sewing, ceramics, cooking, reading and hunting. She is survived by her husband, Jesse E. Wood, Jr.; daughters, Beth Eckles and husband Eddie of Bastrop, LA, Donna Wright of Angleton, TX; sons, Jesse E. Wood III and wife Cynthia of Bastrop, LA, Roger A. Wood and wife Christi of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Savannah Crain, Amber Travis and husband Kevin and Noe Trevino and wife Angela; great grandchildren, Haven Crain, Lyncoln Travis, Jeremiah Trevino, Elijah Trevino and David Trevino. Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her son, Hugh Alan Wood; parents, A.A. and Nina Day and brothers, Billy Day and Buster Day. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 PM - 2 PM service time.
