Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Sue Carpenter Day, will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Beekman Cemetery with Brother Tim Post officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Monday at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Day, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2020, at the age eighty-two. Mrs. Day was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandsons. She was a devoted mother of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing and reading.
Mrs. Day is preceded in death by her mother, Ann Deal; father, Tracey Travis Carpenter; brother, Tracey Carpenter, Jr.; and husband, Robert Franklin Day.
Mrs. Day is survived by her father, Billy Deal; daughters, Debbie Day Rogers, and husband Gale, Lisa Day Hughes, and husband Roy Dale; sister, Mary Ethel Carpenter; brother, Jerry Carpenter and wife Shooney; a grandson, Phillip Willis; great-grandchildren, Luke Willis, Jacob Willis; nieces and nephews, Michelle Cooley Peterson, Travis Carpenter, Melissa Carpenter, Tracy Carpenter, and Jerry Don Carpenter; and a grand daughter-in-law, and loving caretaker, Paige Mullen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Willis, Jacob Willis, Luke Willis, Mike Dement, Charlie Coody, Chuck Esters, Steve Hebert, and Colby Daugherty.
