Obituary of Frederick Eugene Sivils

Funeral services for Mr. Frederick Eugene Sivils will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Cemetery. Mr. Sivils, retired from International Paper Company and a resident of Bastrop, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the age of eighty-two. Mr. Sivils was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing, gardening, and also competed in lumberjack competitions. Mr. Sivils was a United States Veteran who served in the Navy. Mr. Sivils is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Nancy Annette Scoggins Sivils; children, Michael Sivils and wife Maggie, Susan Sivils Kinney and husband Gary Kinney, Jr.; son-in-law, Brad Gilmore; grandchildren, Christopher Lewis, Jordan Newberry and wife Lauren, Jeremy Sivils, Emilee Kinney, Vanessa Sivils, Adam Kinney, Jacob Gilmore; great grandchildren, Jaycelynn Lewis, Brylon Lewis; and siblings, Glenda Faye Sivils Doss, and Billy Ralph Sivils. Mr. Sivils is preceded in death by his mother, Goldie White Sivils; father, Thomas Irven Sivils; children, Joni Lyn Sivils Gilmore, David Dewayne Sivils; and siblings, Thomas Earl Sivils, Ferrell Sivils, William Marion Sivils, Doyle M. Sivils, and Linda Sivils. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Lewis, Jordan Newberry, Jeremy Sivils, Adam Kinney, Jacob Gilmore, and Jarrod Wyatt. The family will receive friends Monday frome 5 PM until 7 PM at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.
