Obituary of Bobby Ray "Skeet" Owens, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Ray “Skeet” Owens, Sr. are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 18, 2020, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Dunn officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday morning prior to the service beginning at 9:00 A.M. Mr. Owens passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020, at the age of eighty-five. He was a part of the Texas Quarter House Association as an owner and breeder, and also had a passion for horse racing. Mr. Owens worked on the pipeline for twenty years, owned a construction company, and worked in the automotive industry. He was very involved with the Elks Lodge and loved to cut loose on a dance floor. Mr. Owens will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. Mr. Owens is survived by his children, George Owens and wife April of Brenham, TX, Shane Owens of Brenham, TX, Rodney Owens and wife Lindsey of Colleyville, TX; brother, Thomas Owens and wife Blanka of Keswick, VA; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Merton Owens and Ethel Owens; son, Bobby Ray Owens, Jr.; and brothers, Clinton Owens, Billy Owens, and Jerry Owens.
