Funeral services for Mr. Roger Dale “Meathead” Herring are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in LA ARK Cemetery. Mr. Herring, a farmer, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at the age of sixty-six. He loved his family, his grandchildren and friends. Mr. Herring attended New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, mowing yards and his coffee. He is survived by his wife Earlene Herring; mother, Erma Herring; daughters, Michelle Davis and husband Glyn, Cynthia Eppinette and husband Steven, Belinda Young; sons, Rodney Herring and girlfriend Brittany Buffington, Robert Jackson and wife Connie, Ricky Jackson, Terry Young and wife Dawna; sisters, Linda Doke and husband Richard, Mary Emmanuel, Carolyn Albright, Rita Herring, Debbie Herring; brothers, Chris Herring, Tommy Herring, Leroy Herring; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Herring is preceded in death by his father, James Herring; daughter-in-law, Ginger Jackson; sister, Margaret Ann Hall; and two infant siblings, Charlotte Herring and Troy David Herring. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Rodney Herring, Steven Eppinette, Robert Jackson, Owen West, Sean Jackson, and Ray Ledford. Richard Doke and Jinks Pruitt will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
