Obituary of Collins Matthew Hammonds

Funeral services for Collins Matthew Hammonds are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 24, 2020, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. A private interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 23, 2020, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Goldens. Mr. Hammonds, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020, at the age of seventy-seven. He was the original American Picker who loved to ride around looking for things to buy. He was a wheeler-dealer who loved to buy and sell just about anything! Mr. Hammonds is survived by his daughters, Renee Harper and husband Ronnie, and Sherrie Fulmer and husband Frank, both of Bastrop, LA; sons, Michael Hammonds and wife Angie Roberts Hammonds, and Keith “Skeet” Hammonds, both of Bastrop, LA; sister, Sylvia Lady of Okmulgee, OK; grandchildren, Kevin Harper, Chad Harper, Kateland Fulmer, Karli Fulmer, Ashley Hammonds Turkasz, Tanner Michael Hammonds, Matthew Houston Hammonds, Patrick Phillip Hammonds, Collins Ray Hammonds; and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Tiny May Hammonds; his mother and father, Myrtle and Richard Evans; brothers, Otto Hammond, Bobby Hammonds, Huey Hammonds; and sister, Juanita Hopkins. Serving as pallbearers will be Tanner Michael Hammonds, Patrick Phillip Hammonds, Collins Ray Hammonds, Kevin Ray Harper, Matthew Houston Hammonds and Chad Matthew Harper. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Calhoun, Moe Templeton, Larry Blakely, Jim Farrar, and Charlie Wilson.
