Ms. Howell, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, was born April 7, 1953, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020, at the age of sixty-five. She spent most of her childhood in the woods of N.E. Louisiana. She graduated from Bastrop High School, then earned an Associate Diploma in Business Administration. An avid career person, she worked and lived in Oklahoma and Texas, eventually returning to the N.E. Louisiana, S.E. Arkansas area. She worked for ten years as a legal secretary before being employed by Georgia Pacific in Crossett, Arkansas. As an employee of Georgia Pacific, she initially worked in whatever area she was needed in, doing what work needed to be done. Later, she accepted a permanent assignment to the Crossett Regional Engineering Office of the Resin Division, as Senior Secretary. She was with Georgia Pacific for eleven years when chronic, serious illness and being diagnosed with Lupus caused her to be disabled and to retire.
Horses were her life-long passion. She devoted much of her life to activities involving them. She loved yard work, spending much time in her flower beds, and "tending to the place." An outdoors person, she also spent much time in the woods. She also enjoyed reading, having a large library; travel, when possible; various types of artwork; and most types of needlework, being and expert seamstress, as well as being expert at knitting, crochet, and embroidery.
Blessed with two marvelous kids, they, in turn, blessed her with six equally-as-marvelous grandkids.
Ms. Howell is survived by her children, Lora J. Farmer and companion Will Watson, Leland J. Farmer and wife Lauren; grandchildren, Allison Dillon and husband Cole, Anna Papiska, Arland Papiska, Anthony Papiska, Alphies Papiska, Zachary Farmer, Raine Farmer; and three sisters and one brother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alphies and Nadine Baker.
