Obituary of Jamie E. Powell

Funeral services for Mr. Jamie E. Powell are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, February 8, 2020, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Jeffery Robinson and Bro. Brandon Gilbreath officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Powell, a member of the Road Home Fellowship, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at the age of fifty-eight. He was a farmer in Morehouse Parish for twenty-eight years and served on the Board of Directors of Morehouse Parish Farm Bureau. Mr. Powell enjoyed hunting with his daughter, fishing and traveling. He loved spending time with his family and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Powell; his children, Chloe Powell, Holden Jester; siblings, Carol Anderson and husband Terry, Rodney Powell and wife Joyce, Patty Perry and husband Jimmy; sisters-in-law, Tracy Pitre and husband Kenneth, Terri Jester and husband Joseph, Taren Jester; mother-in-law, Antoni Jester; father-in-law, Charles Jester and wife Etta; and left to cherish his memory of his Pop Pop, grandson, Harper Jester; special friends, Bardell Bostick, Rhonda Bostick, Clarence Fontenot, and Sharon Fontenot; special companion, Baby Kitty; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Powell is preceded in death by his parents, Nim Rod Powell and Faylene Norris Powell.
Serving the family as pallbearers are Taylor Sadler, Keith Gunter, Zeb Benton, Steve Barnhill, Tony Middleton, and Don Rodgers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Fontenot, Bardell Bostick, Joe Bob Johnson, Kenny Dye, Mike Rosenzweig, and Kenneth Pitre.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 7, 2020 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens.
