Obituary of Michael B. Arrant

Funeral services for Mr. Michael B. Arrant, Sr., age 84, are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM Friday, February 7 at Goldens. Mr. Arrant, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020. He enjoyed Sunday mornings with his Sunday school class at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, where he was a member. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed baseball with his grandsons and great grandsons. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his daughter, Amy Robinson and husband Chris of Bastrop, LA; son, Michael Bruce Arrant, Jr. and wife Misty of Bastrop, LA; sister, Beverly Arrant Cummings of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Corey Robinson and wife Ashley, Wade Robinson and wife Stormie, Lily Arrant; great grandchildren, Peyton Robinson, Tyler Robinson, Dawson Robinson and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Arrant is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Courson Arrant and his parents, Jasper Wright “Jap” and Dixie Thixton Arrant. Serving as pallbearers will be Ross Cummings, Eddie Courson, Wade Robinson, Corey Robinson, Brandon Morrison and Patrick Morrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Uptigrove, Devohn Hayes, Huey Bonner, Raymond Johnson and Lloyd Townsend. Memorial contributions may be made to “The Hour” Sunday school class at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Arrant.
