Obituary of Edna McCready

A celebration of life for Mrs. Edna McCready, age 97, of Bastrop, LA, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March17, 2020 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. McCready was the most kind and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, growing flowers, gardening and traveling. She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness. She will be missed by all who knew her including her fur babies, Slinky, Tiger, Gizzy, Scooby, Tazmania, Nubin and Brutus. Mrs. McCready is survived by her daughter, Wanda McCready Adams and husband Little Bud; sons, Jerry Dean McCready and wife Glenda, Arnold McCready and wife Sue; daughter in laws, Debbie McCready, Ann McCready, Cricket Porter; siblings, Doris Roberts, Carlene Bryant and husband Don, Donald Harris, David Harris and wife June; grandchildren, Tracy McCready and wife Kristi, Natanya Shoemaker and husband Gerry, Marissa McCready and fiancé Joshua Harris, Brittany Priscilla McCready, Jerry McCready, Jr. and wife Melissa, Andy McCready and wife Janette, Chip Adams, Tammy Porter, Stacy Stroud and husband George, Brandon McCready and wife Danette, Joshua Head, Kayla Cady and husband Brad, Angie Aday, Chris Aday and wife Bessie; great grandchildren, Jesse McCready, Jacob McCready, Justin McCready, Tanasha Varino, Scarlett Stroud, Sterling Stroud, Jalen McCready, Coleman McCready, Courtney Moore, Mallory Adams, Joseph Jarrett, Merissa Miller, Hunter Aday, Mackensie Cady, Madyson Aday, Danny Pritchard, Jr. Lillian Aday; numerous great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, David McCready; son, Billy McCready; grandson, Toby Adams; parents, Irvin and Minnie Harris; and siblings,, Nobie Wooden, Nonnie Taylor, Sadie Goleman, James Harris and William Harris.
