A private graveside service will be held for Mr. Harold Gene Porter with Bro. Jerry Reynolds officiating. Mr. Porter passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the age of seventy-four. He was a retiree of Union Pacific Railroad and a United States Marine veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Porter was a member and Past Commander of 40 and 8 Post 51 of the American Legion. He coached the American Legion baseball team. Mr. Porter was an avid golfer, fisherman, deer hunter and he enjoyed camping. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Sue Porter; daughters, J.J. Brannon and husband Thomas of Monroe, LA, Karen Lowery of Longview, AR, Kimberly Johnson and husband David of Hamburg, AR; sons, Lee Savage and wife Zhai of Lake Jackson, TX, T. Tom Harrison and wife Christina of Beaumont, TX; sisters, Mary Green and husband Glen of Oak Grove, LA, Shirley Porter; brothers, Leon Porter and wife Trudy of Prescott, AR, Kenneth Porter and wife Cricket of West Monroe, LA, Gabe Porter, Jr. And wife Janice of Start, LA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike Sudduth and wife Linda of Bastrop, LA, Richard Carpenter and wife Wanda of Mer Rouge, LA, Jimmy Graves of Bastrop, LA; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Porter is preceded in death by his wife, Sissy Porter; daughters, Donna Jean Porter, Sondra Marie Porter; parents, Gabe and Maxine Porter; and siblings, Betty Lou Porter, Ronnie Porter, and Elizabeth Graves. Mr. Glen Green will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
