Obituary of Donald Jerry Lyles

Donald Jerry Lyles Sr., age 79, of Bastrop, LA, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Mr. Lyles was the retired owner of Lyles Realty in Alamo, TX and a retired professor of Microbiology at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (formerly Pan American University). He was an avid sportsman, scuba diver, and scuba instructor. He was also a talented underwater photographer. He shared his love of God and nature with many, inspiring them to their own exploration. He was faithful member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Sue Bates Lyles; daughter, Laura Lyles Reagan of South Padre Island, TX; son, Donald Jerry Lyles, Jr. and wife Martina of Edinburg, TX; sister, Catherine Lyles Russell of Bastrop, LA and six grandchildren. Mr. Lyles is preceded in death by his parents, David Jefferson, Clyde Faye Lyles; brother, Doyle Lyles. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
