A private graveside service for Mrs. Mavis Slade Butler will be held Friday, April 24, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Butler passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020, at the age of eighty-five. She retired from the State of Louisiana Office of Family Support after twenty-six years of service. She loved gardening and working in the yard.
Mrs. Butler is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ann Butler Hopson of Bastrop, LA; son, Larry Gray and wife Barbara of Bastrop, LA; sister, Geraldine Beverly Godwin of Austin, TX; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, C.C. Slade and Dimple Perry Raynes; and son, Bruce Gray.
