Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Ann Johnson are scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, July14, 2020 at Loch Arbor Cemetery with Bro. Tim Post officiating under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Johnson, of Bastrop, LA., passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at the age of eighty-five. She was the eldest of seven children. Mrs. Johnson retired from Safeway where she worked for twenty-one years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and she was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. She loved being a grandmother and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by sons, Allen Johnson and wife Denise of Monroe, LA, Larry Johnson and friend Sara of Bastrop, LA; daughters, Kathy Holland and Barbie Johnson and husband David “Bubba” Cliburn, both of Bastrop, LA; brothers, Bill Thompson and wife Landa of Texarkana and Mike Thompson of Swartz, LA; sister-in-law, Marie Welbourne of El Paso, TX; grandchildren, Chris Johnson of McKenny, TX, Jeremy Holland and wife Megan of Frisco,TX, Rhett Johnson of Monroe, LA, Crystal Jasay of Hamburg, AR, Amy Whetstone and husband Rodney of Bastrop, LA, Derrick Johnson and wife Courtney of Bastrop, LA, Nickie Lalonde and husband Josh of Baton Rouge, LA, Erica Yeates and husband Trey of Collinston, LA, Patience Dance of Baton Rouge, LA, Cody Johnson of Bastrop, LA; ten great grandchildren with one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Ella Thompson; husband, Willie C. Johnson; daughter, Debbie Dance; sisters, Shirley Carroll, Wanda Matlock, Sandra Hayes and a brother, Shelby Thompson, Jr.
