Funeral services for Bobby Glenn Black are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, July 17, 2020, at Victory Tabernacle Church with Bro. Kevin Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday, prior to the service beginning at 11 AM. Mr. Black, a member of Victory Tabernacle and resident of Mer Rouge, LA, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at the age of eighty-seven. He served in the US Navy for four years and then worked on the pipeline during his early years. Later on, Mr. Black did welding construction work and eventually owned a trucking business where he was able to retire. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Marilyn Pierce Black; daughters, Rebecca Clark Green and husband Tarryl of Leaksville, MS, Eileen McIntyre Jenkins and husband Steve of Calhoun, LA, Teresa Rawls Akers and husband Tommy of Bastrop, LA; son-in-law, Shelby Gregory of Bastrop, LA; brothers, Wayne Black and wife Martha Lee of West Monroe, LA, Timothy Black and wife Dollie of Mer Rouge, LA, Randall Black and wife Diana of Mena, AR; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Black is preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Lucile Heath Black; daughter, Cheryl Black Gregory; sister, Helen Carter; brothers, Gerald Black and Roger Dale Black. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Neal Rawls, Ryan Rawls, Chad Rawls, Denton Clark, Shawn Bice, and Ty Gregory.
