Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Annie Shumate are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Tim Post officiating.
Mrs. Shumate, a member of the Baptist faith, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the age of one hundred two. She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Mrs. Shumate loved doing things and providing for her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Geneva Smith of Bastrop, LA, Ellen Fairchild of Epps, LA, Joann Higgs and husband Ray of Raymond, MS; son, Joe Shumate and wife Thelma of Pioneer, LA; sisters, Lucy Nipper of Albuquerque, NM, Pearl Decker of New York; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Shumate is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Shumate; ten brothers and sisters; grandchild, Tony Smith; and two great grandchildren, Jonathan McCandish and Jennifer Courson.
