Funeral services for Mr. Steve Slade, age 55, are scheduled for 1 PM Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Golden Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Start Cemetery, Start, LA. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12 until 1 pm service time.
Mr. Slade, a painter, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020. He loved people and loved being able to bring joy to all around him. When he was a young boy, he made a promise to God he would make one person a day laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Cureington Slade; children, Clifton Slade, Clayton Slade, Lauren Martin and Jonathan Barlow; sisters, Cathy Jo “Slade” Lewis and Carol “Slade” Redden; brother, Johnny Slade and wife Sherry; step-mother, Sherry McGee; grandchildren, Everleigh Martin and Garrett Martin; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews who they knew as “Uncle Gus”.
Mr. Slade is preceded in death by hisparents, John E. And JoAnn Temple Slade; mother-in-law, Carolyn Cureington and sister-in-law, Carmen Cooper.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charlie Stevenson, Patrick Wilson, Barry Ryder and Heath Gulledge.
