Carolyn George Porter Lucas passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020 in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was born on September 11, 1938 in Bastrop, Louisiana to Edward Pearcy George and Anna Neva Overton George.
Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, Charles LaPrade Porter on August 16, 1958 in Bastrop, Louisiana. Together they raised three children, Chuck, Neill and Julie. They were happily married for 31 years until Prade’s untimely death on September 24, 1989.
Carolyn remarried on May 8, 1993 to Max Cox Lucas.
Carolyn worked with Prade at Peoples Water Service of Louisiana until her retirement. She loved her church family at First United Methodist Church in Bastrop. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, who affectionately called her BoBo and Grandmother. She was an avid bridge player and loved to spend time with her lifelong friends from Bastrop. Carolyn enjoyed life to its fullest and was very blessed by those who were part of her life’s journey. Alzheimer’s took so much from her at the end of her life but did not take away her love for her family, friends, and those who cared for her.
