Roberta (Bobbie) Hogan [94], of Oak Ridge, La. passed away on September 9th in St. Joseph Nursing Home, Monroe. Her funeral service will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery on September 19th at 10:00 with pastor Eddie Davis officiating. Bobbie was born September 15, 1925 near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and enjoyed the rolling hills, the magnificent fall foliage, and family trips to Lake Erie during her childhood. She met Earl Hogan in church while he was working for Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Co. and they married in 1944. The couple moved to Ruston, La. in 1946, on to Baton Rouge in 1953, and eventually to Oak Ridge in 1959. Along the way they had three sons and were active in local businesses, church and youth organizations. Art was a lifelong passion of Bobbie’s. She enjoyed working in different mediums, especially pen and ink, pastel, and watercolor. Mrs. Hogan is survived by her husband Earl Hogan of Oak Ridge, son James Hogan of Houston, daughters-in-law Ruth Hogan and Cathey Meagher of Houston, sister Iris McManus of Pittsburgh, grandchildren Grant Hogan, Todd Hogan, Cheryl Jordan, Erica Radcliffe and Ross Hogan, and great grandchildren Kate Hogan, David Hogan, Clara Jordan, Elliot Jordan, Laine Radcliffe, Lillian Radcliffe, Jack Hogan, and James F. Hogan. She is preceded in death by sons David and Tommy Hogan and her brother James Morgan. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to her loving friends and the “Village” of Oak Ridge for all the caring support provided over the years. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude.
