Obituary of Hazel Marie Reppond Dew

Hazel Marie Reppond Dew, of Bastrop, LA, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, September 13, 2020, at St. Francis Medical Center, at the age of ninety. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop, with Bro. Richard Gambill officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time. Mrs. Dew was born April 27, 1930, in Marion, LA, but lived in Bastrop most of her life. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and served Him faithfully for more than seventy-five years. She served Him with her musical ability on the piano, and as children’s Bible teacher for over forty years at the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Dew is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Lora Reppond, brother, J.M. Reppond, infant daughter, Donna June Dew, and her beloved husband of forty-four years, Van Dew. She is survived by her sons, Rodney Dew, and wife Diana, and Don Dew, of Bastrop; two precious grandchildren, Charles Dew, and wife Rachel, of Plano, TX, and Caitlin Hughes, and husband Owen, of Ogmore-by-Sea, Wales, United Kingdom, and one great-grandchild, Rowan James Dew, of Plano, TX. Serving as pallbearers are: Shelby Moore, Terry Williams, Robert Shaw, Mike Sebren, Gerald Kelly and Mark Robinson. Interment will be at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bastrop.
