Funeral services for Mrs. Jeanie Fay Rainbolt are schedulded for 2 PM Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Pastor Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery.
Jeanie Fay Rainbolt, 78, of Rayville, LA formerly of Bastrop, LA went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2020. She was surrounded by her family after a short illness. Jeanie was born September 10, 1942 in Bastrop, LA to Genie and Lucille Dopson. She graduated from Bastrop High School, then furthered her education at BMI Business College in Monroe, LA.
Jeanie was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Bastrop where she served as church secretary. After her health started to fail she watched services on television.
While her children were small she substituted school then worked at Morehouse General Hospital. Leaving MGH to work for Dr, J.B. Reynolds as his office manager until his retirement. Here she made life long friendships not only with Dr. Reynolds and wife Janice, but with co-workers and even some patients. Jeanie loved the spring where she could bring her large pots of flowers out that she had saved from the last season and being in her flower beds planting and weeding. She always enjoyed camping especially if it was on a creek bank or pond around, whether the fish was biting or not we knew where to find her. She also loved to shock the grandchildren by riding go-carts, three wheelers and even dancing. Her quite time was putting jigsaw puzzles together and crossword puzzles. But family times was the most important to her.
Jeanie is preceded in death by her parents, Genie and Lucille (Wallace) Dopson; husband, Specialist 5, Harold Lowther; her paternal grandparents, Oliver and Nancy (Cannon) Dopson; and her maternal grandparents, T.J. and Minnie (McIntyre) Wallace.
Leaving behind a beloved husband of fifty-three years, Jack Rainbolt; three children, Connie Bulloch and husband Michael, Janet Hammons, Arny Lowther and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Brandon Bulloch, Michael John Bulloch, Jessica Hilliard and husband James, William Lowther and wife Cathryn, Kelsey Lowther and Joshua Hammons; great grandchildren, Cole Bulloch, Joby Clark, Ja’Michael Hilliard, Cheyenne Lowther, Whitley Lowther, Clara Lowther, Jeremiah Hilliard and her name sake, Willa Fay Lowther; two sisters, Shelba Mcgee, Connie Diaz, both from McGehee, Arkansas; a very special uncle, Jerry Spikes of Kansas, formerly of Bastrop; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friend and neighbor, Teresa Youngblood of Rayville.
Our family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Cynthia Wagnon and her nurse, Amber Grady for being there anytime we needed them, A forever gratefulness to Monica G. Odom and the staff of Crossroads Hospice.
Pallbearers are Brandon Bulloch, William Lowther, Gary Mizell, Caleb Mizell, Jimmy Matlock, and Slade Bradley.
Honorary pallbearers are Michael John Bulloch, Joshua Hammons , Cole Bulloch, Joby Clark, and JaMichael Hilliard.
Visitation will be held Saturday, from 5 PM until 7 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
