Obituary of Thomas Michael Gilly

Funeral services for Thomas Michael Gilly are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, December 3, 2020, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Hackler and Bro. Butch Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 2, 2020, from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens. Mr. Gilly, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020, at the age of sixty-nine. He retired after forty-seven years of millwork and was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Gilly was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who adored his grandchildren. He loved his Lord and Savior and served Him faithfully. Mr. Gilly was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Bonnie Gilly; children, Brian Gilly and wife Deana, Carmen Turner and husband Sammy; sister, Jan Warlick; brothers, David Gilly and wife Carol, Dickie Gilly and wife Vicki; grandchildren, Kadie Gilly, Annie Gilly, Landrie Turner; father-in-law, Pete Kimball; sister-in-law, Peggy Hurley and husband Don; special friend, Butch Goodman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Gilly is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Betty Jean Gilly; mother-in-law, Vivian Kimball; brothers-in-law, Gary Warlick, Donnie Kimball, and Max Kimball. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Lynn Sanders, Clint Kitchens, Mike Faulkenberry, Charles Franklin, Rayburn McLarrin, and Joshua Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church.
