Funeral services for Mrs. Lila GLadys Lord are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, December 17, 2020, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Casey Johnson and Bro. Gary “Juice” Guice officiating. Interment will follow in Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service beginning at 12 PM. Mrs. Lord, a retired employee of Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Department with thirty-three years of working with the public, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the age of ninety-one. She is survived by her son, Thomas E. “Chuck” Lord, Jr., and wife Carol; grandchildren, Charlie Thomas Lord and wife Amanda, Jerri Ann Lord Carroll and husband Kody, Jesci Clare Lord; great grandchildren, Jason Remy Lord, Aiden Thomas Lord, Ezekiel Alexander Lord, Malachi Drue Lord, Leo Benson Carroll; sister, Beba Raye Regan; nieces, Ginger Mandell, Connie Oliver, Gloria Roberts; nephews, Duane Flowers, Louis Britt; her extended daughters, Cindy Long, Mary Lococo, Cheryl Williams, Caren Bennett; extended sons, Al Long, Randy Wooten, Allen Williams, Bill Bennett; and extended grandchildren, Valarie Long, Kenny Long, AnnMarie Chappelle, Buster Guice, Erin Word, Catherine Knowles, Craig Farno, Martha Williams, Hayden Bennett, Hayley Granstrom, and Hannah Bennett. Mrs. Lord is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Lord, Sr.; parents, Charlie and Clara Raye Boyd Dixon; granddaughter, Sara Alyssa Lord; sisters, Anna Louise Britt, Marie Biddy, Mary M. Dixon, Jessie Marie Biddy, Muriel Flowers; brother, Charlie Boyd Dixon; niece, Terri Regan Harrison; nephews, Danny Charles Britt and William Charles Biddy. Serving as pallbearers will be Buster Guice, Randy Wooten, Thomas “Brother” Musgrove, Tommy Rhodes, Jerry Rhodes, Hayden Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Tubbs, Antonia German, Brian Shoemaker, Jeff Winnon, Carl Patrick, Danny McGrew, and Willie Dorsey.
