Dr. Baker was one of the sweetest persons we will ever know. For years after retirement he continued to make house calls on Mr. & Mrs. Gillpatrick. We have truly lost one of the greatest servants we will ever know. We Love you Dr. Baker.

Dr. Baker was a very kind person. He delivered my last child in 1971. He was always so friendly. He made me feel special even years later. I remember seeing him at an activity for oldest grandson when he graduated and it was like the years just fell away and we were right back where we had been all the years before. My grandson was surprised that we knew each other. Dr. Baker will surely be missed. May his family find peace in the days to come knowing that he was loved.

My heart is shattered. I was getting ready to call him today. I did not know he passed. I worked at Morehouse General Hospital with him. He would see me perched in a chair and said I reminded him of his wife. He had great love for her and visited her gravesite every Sunday since she passed. He missed her. Spoke how the green carpet was still in the house from when she was there. We wrote letters to each other & he attended my wedding. He was the most kind Godly man I’ve known. He will be missed!

Sending my heart-felt condolences to all the family of this fine man. . .your father, grandfather or brother. He delivered my son in 1967 and told me the directions for rearing him were on the bottom. After traveling the world with my military husband, we retired in southern Arkansas and I was able to return to Bastrop a number of times where I ran into Dr. Baker at the Rose Theater during several productions. It was wonderful to see him. May God give you peace as you mourn the loss of this gentleman.

Dr. Baker was a kind man, and a very Good Doctor. He delivered my two son's in the 70's. He was always available to us, and when needed, ready to answer a question. When my Oldest was about to be born on 11/27/1970, (on or around Thanksgiving Day) He called our home and gave us the Phone Number of a relative that he was going to visit and told us to call him if we felt it was time. Dr. Baker brought me into this world on February 26, 1963. He was my doctor and my children's doctor until he "retired." He was the kindest person I've ever known. He was a great doctor. I loved him. I will miss him greatly. To the family: I hope you find peace and I hope the Lord blesses each of you.

I’m saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Baker. My oldest son, born in 1980, was one of the last babies delivered by him. He was the best doctor during my entire pregnancy. Four years later I called him because I wanted to see if he would deliver our second baby but I found out he had indeed retired as an Obstetrician. That second son went on to play football for PVA and was injured on the field with a dislocated knee. Dr Baker came onto the field to set his knee back in place right there to insure that Jon Ross would not be in such intense pain waiting at ER. As parents we were very appreciative. He stayed with us during the entire treatment of his knee even calling us at home. We have so much love, admiration and appreciation for Dr Baker. There are few left like him. He definitely left his mark on our family. Throughout the years when sickness or injury occurred he was the first doctor I thought of. To the family I offer my condolences. He has and will be missed. Forever in my heart.

My heart felt sympathy to Dr. Baker's family, and prayers and hugs that God will give you peace. I first met him as a child at my father's business (Stuart's Auto Repair), and as adults we became very close while I was teaching band at PVA. He was a great doctor and a great loving and caring person who loved and respected everyone he came in contact with. I will miss him greatly as I know all of you.

Dr Baker brought me into this world in 1966 and my brother Jay Robinson in 1969, he was our family doctor up till he left his office. The office was always the same never changed, even as a adult I would get nervous waiting for him to come into the room. He kept the one file for my whole family through the years, it was large file by the time he left his office. I was surprise to see him at funerals of my family member, Thank you Dr Baker for all the years you took care of my family. To the family thanks for sharing your father time with the town of Bastrop. I'm praying for you.. Jill Robinson

My sincere condolences to your family Dr Baker. You came into my life at one of the most difficult times. I was going through so many difficulties in my personal life. I made a bad decision. You did not judge me, you did not scold me. You lifted me, told me of my worth. God put you where I needed you. Your gentle manner, your kind and uplifting spirit has forever been in my heart. Our brief encounter meant the world to me. Now, you’re rewarded for your kindness, not just to me but to our community. I’m positive you have already heard, “Welcome, my good and faithful servant”. Thank you Dr Baker for all you’ve done. Rest now and celebrate being in the presence of our Lord.
